Meditation
Proverbs 7:1-2 in the Bible shares a timeless message: "My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye." This isn't just about listening to advice; it's about making that advice a part of who you are.
When Solomon talks about "storing up commands," he's saying we should really take these teachings to heart. Imagine your mind like a room. If you fill that room with smart choices and good advice, there's no space left for bad decisions or foolishness.
Wisdom isn't just something you know; it's something you live. When we're told to "guard teachings as the apple of your eye," it means we should value and protect this wisdom. Think about how important your eyes are and how careful you are with them. That's how we should treat wisdom.
If we fill our minds with good advice and wisdom, there's no room for mistakes or foolish choices. So, when we face challenges or have to make decisions, we're already prepared with the best knowledge. In a way, by prioritizing wisdom, we're setting ourselves up for success, because there's no room left for anything else.
