When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.

Meditation
This proverb shows the two-sided nature of Justice. On the one hand, it brings joy to the righteous because their conduct is shown to be good. But on the other hand, it brings terror to the unrighteous because it shows their conduct to be out of line. Justice is not, first of all, a set of rules. It is rooted in the very character of God, and it is the outworking of that character, which is never less than just. Therefore when we do the fair, right, and good things every day, in the little decisions, itβs a picture of Justice on the micro-scale. Justice is a light, exposing our actions as right or wrong.
When you choose to do the right thing, you experience a sense of inner peace, knowing that you have acted in alignment with your values and principles. This sense of contentment reduces the stress and anxiety that may arise from feelings of guilt or uncertainty. This, in turn, minimizes the pressure that comes with worrying about potential fallout. You donβt need to hide.
On the other hand, the verse also states that the same justice brings fear and terror to those who do evil deeds. This is likely because evildoers understand that they will be held accountable for their actions, and that they may face consequences as a result. The verse thus emphasizes the importance of justice and fairness in maintaining a moral and harmonious society, and it suggests that both good and bad people will ultimately be affected by the presence or absence of justice.
Justice shines a light on our actions. By consistently doing the right thing, you build trust and respect with those around you. When people trust and respect you, they are more likely to treat you fairly and provide support when needed, which can alleviate pressure in both personal and professional relationships. If you do the wrong thing you have to carry around the weight of those decisions. Doing the right thing takes the pressure off.
Prayer
Lord, help us to do the right thing every day and shine a light on injustice to show the world who you are.
