Proverb of the day
Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words, who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.

Meditation
Marriage is a covenant promise of future love. Adultery is serious because it breaks that covenant. Marriage is a legal union, strengthened by vows that symbolize not only the love shared at present but also the commitment to nurturing that love in the future. These vows serve as the foundation that keeps a couple together, navigating the challenges that could otherwise dissolve a typical relationship. Without this covenant, the unique rewards of a lifelong commitment that endures through good times and bad become unattainable.
In contrast to a covenant relationship, a self-centered relationship prioritizes personal fulfillment over shared commitment. In such relationships, partners pledge their support as long as it benefits them individually. However, a covenant relationship revolves around the promise of being there for one another. The essence of a vow-based covenant relationship emphasizes selfless service over personal gratification. By nurturing this type of relationship, partners prioritize their commitment to each other, fostering a deeper and more meaningful connection that can withstand life's challenges.
This is what Jesus did for us. Jesus, our perfect spouse, loved us to make us lovely, not because we were inherently fulfilling to him (Ephesians 5:25โ27). A wise individual recognizes that true fulfillment stems not from its direct pursuit but from honoring promises and engaging in selfless service.
